Former men’s business shirts are turned into a new favorite blouse – and what a blouse it is! With the MILCH sewing tutorial for the NIKI shirt blouse, you can easily sew this fascinating upcycled piece yourself at home.
Everything is preserved: The buttonholes, the buttons, and even the sleeves reappear in a completely new place. The shirts are reassembled like new. The patterns are kept very simple. Really! Being able to sew straight seams is completely sufficient – the rest is pure MILCH magic. 🙂
WHAT MAKES THE NIKI BLOUSE SPECIAL:
- Sewn from 1 to 2 men’s business shirts (upcycling)
- Clever cut: Sleeves, buttons, and buttonholes are cleverly repositioned
- Very easy to make – perfect even for sewing beginners
- The size of the blouse is easily and individually adjustable
REQUIRED MATERIALS:
- 1-2 men’s shirts (if the shirt is very large, one is enough). Preferably similar in material and color; white looks great, but it’s not a must!
- Scissors
- Paper
- Sewing machine
WHAT YOU GET:
- A downloadable PDF via email, available in English
- Detailed drawings explaining how to prepare and cut the material
- Simple instructions on how to draw the pattern yourself and sew the pieces together
- Tips on how to perfectly adjust the size of the blouse to your own measurements

Have fun sewing, dear #HOSENHELDIN!
MILCH is an upcycling design label founded in Vienna in 1998 by Clôd Baumgartner and her team. Until 2019, we lovingly transformed worn men’s suit trousers, shirts, and jeans into contemporary fashion, selling them in 30 stores, including our own at Vienna’s Yppenplatz. Our designs have won numerous awards and have been featured in international exhibitions, shows, and museums. Today, we exclusively pass on our accumulated upcycling knowledge in the form of DIY sewing tutorials and workshops – for a creative #lesswaste lifestyle.
