LENZI Shirt Dress – DIY Upcycling Sewing Tutorial by MILCH (EN+DE)

12,00

The LENZI shirt dress is a gorgeous summer dress made from several retired ex-shirts. With the MILCH sewing tutorial for the LENZI dress, you can easily create this beautiful upcycled garment yourself at home.

The dress features elegant grown-on sleeves and two practical in-seam pockets – or rather, shirt pockets! 🙂 In this tutorial, we show you exactly how to prepare the shirts, draw the pattern yourself (it’s very easy, we promise!), cut the pieces, and sew them together.

WHAT MAKES THE LENZI DRESS SPECIAL:

  • Sewn from 4 men’s shirts (upcycling)
  • Features grown-on sleeves and 2 practical side pockets
  • A wonderful blank canvas: We dyed our dresses after sewing them together for a beautiful, unified look!
  • Special Extra: Includes a surprise BONUS sewing tutorial!

REQUIRED MATERIALS:

  • 4 men’s shirts (preferably nice and large, and ideally no slim-fit shirts)
  • Measuring tape
  • Scissors
  • Paper
  • Sewing machine

WHAT YOU GET:

  • A downloadable PDF via email, available in English
  • Step-by-step instructions on how to draw the pattern yourself (very easy!)
  • Detailed guidance on how to prepare the shirts, cut them straight, and sew them together
  • An exclusive surprise BONUS sewing tutorial included in the file!

WHO IS LENZI FOR?
For anyone who loves sustainable summer fashion and creative upcycling. You don’t need advanced skills! The only requirements are being able to cut straight lines and sew straight seams on your sewing machine.

MILCH is an upcycling design label founded in Vienna in 1998 by Clôd Baumgartner and her team. Until 2019, we lovingly transformed worn men’s suit trousers, shirts, and jeans into contemporary fashion, selling them in 30 stores, including our own at Vienna’s Yppenplatz. Our designs have won numerous awards and have been featured in international exhibitions, shows, and museums. Today, we exclusively pass on our accumulated upcycling knowledge in the form of DIY sewing tutorials and workshops – for a creative #lesswaste lifestyle.
